Be the Person People Look at and Say

A new single by Jessie Burner — out September 11, 2026
What if the goal was never to be the loudest person in the room?
What if it was to become the kind of person people notice without needing to announce yourself?
“Be the Person People Look at and Say” is a new single from Jessie Burner that turns that idea into sound. Released through Funk You Music, the track arrives September 11, 2026, continuing a run of releases that moves through dubstep, electronic music, and heavier experimental territory.
The title is really a challenge.
Not a challenge to become famous. Not a challenge to prove that you're better than everyone else. It's about becoming someone whose actions speak loudly enough that other people stop and think:
“I want to know how they got there.”
There is something powerful about watching someone completely commit to becoming who they are supposed to be. The work. The failures. The strange decisions. The moments when nobody is paying attention. All of it eventually becomes part of the story.
And that's where this song comes from.
“Be the Person People Look at and Say” is about becoming that person—not through perfection, but through persistence. It's about continuing to create, continuing to evolve, and continuing to move forward even when there isn't an audience watching.
Musically, the track takes that idea into a heavier world. Built around a dubstep foundation, it fits into Jessie Burner's increasingly eclectic electronic catalog while continuing the momentum of recent releases such as “Congrats You're Moving to the Next Level” and “Take Me to the Moon.”
But ultimately, the song isn't really about music.
It's about identity.
Who are you when nobody is watching?
What are you building when nobody is applauding?
And what happens if you keep going long enough that one day, somebody finally looks at you and says:
“How did you become that person?”
Maybe that's the real goal.
Not to chase attention.
Become someone worth paying attention to.
